The purpose of roof insulation is to ensure that air does not escape from your home through the roof. It acts as a secondary barrier to other insulation installed in your home. An “R-value” distinguishes all roof insulation. The “R” stands for “resistance” and refers to the resistance a material has to heat flow, or temperature conveyance. The higher the number, the better the insulation.
The photograph shows a form of roof insulation that we use for all of our single-ply and metal roof installation projects. R-Tech is a brand of fanfold roof insulation, which is a lightweight yet high-performance sheathing that consists of a superior closed cell, creating excellent resistance to water.
This type of insulation lays on top of the sheathing and acts as an underlayment for the single-ply membrane or metal panels.

Drip edge is a metal flashing that is installed at the edges of the roof to help control water flow. They are also used to protect the underlying roofing components and to control water away from the fascia.
Drip edge overhangs the sides of the roof and has a small metal flange that is bent away from the fascia. Please contact us if you have questions.
